Q: When does the season run?
A: Practices will run for approximately 2 weeks in mid to late August. Games will begin right around Labor Day each year and finish before Oak Hill's fall break vacation. All games will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Q: My child already plays football, volleyball, or fall baseball (Sundays or Saturdays) at Oak Hill during the fall sports season. Can he or she still play soccer?
A: Yes! Fall baseball in the past has typically fallen on Saturdays and Sundays, and both youth football and volleyball run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and some Saturdays at Oak Hill. The Tuesday and Thursday schedule for Oak Hill youth soccer is compatible with all of these other sports, so you can still play soccer along side these other options! The only exception would be fall sports at the JH level. Those athletes will typically have a more varied schedule and therefore more overlaps, but they are still welcome to play and have been very successful doing so in the past.
Q: My child does not attend Oak Hill, can he or she still play in the league?
A: Yes! Any child age four through 8th grade is welcome to join us.
Q: What are the different age groups/fields?
A: We have four different fall divisions. Pre-K/Kindergarten is the pee wee division, followed by 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th/5th, and 6th/7th/8th grades.
Q: What are the age requirements for your different age groups/divisions?A: Your child MUST be 4 years old or older on August 1st of the current calendar year in order to play in our Pee Wee (Pre-K/Kindergarten) age group. After that, the remaining fields are split up by the child's grade level.Q: What is the plan for the 6th/7th/8th grade fall division this year?A: The enrollment numbers in our 6th/7th/8th grade fall recreational league were substantially higher last fall than the previous year, and we are expecting an even greater turnout this year. Because of this, our plan will be to again use the traditional soccer setup, with the only difference being the field will be slightly smaller. Traditional soccer rules, goal sizes, and goalies will all be in use.
